Don't Forget to Compress Your Files!
A Word About FIREWALLS and Network Security.
Sending files via E-mail attachments, Macintosh or Windows users -
You can send files directly to our E-mail account at custserv@graficamedia.com. Simply send as an attachment to your e-mail, from within your favorite E-mail application (we recommend Netscape v.4.0 or higher). Make sure to compress the files into one ".sea" file, and convert into a "binhex" format before mailing.
E-mail is downloaded every morning at 10:00 am, EST. Jobs received after this time may not be processed until the following business day.
Be aware that files sent as attachments are sometimes corrupted during transmission, especially when mail is sent and received by different client applications. We do NOT recommend sending files over 1 MB or that need to be processed on a rush basis in this manner.
For oversized or rush jobs, please send via FTP .
FTP Transfers, at up to 128k, via iSDN!
We offer you the ability to transfer data from a remote location via the internet, to our FTP server. This transfer happens in "real time" with no delay between send and receive time. Accessible 24/7 at up to 128 kps, with any standard internet connection. We utilize iSDN technology for our connectivity. (If you are new to iSDN connectivity, Brad Overbeeb' Page has a FULL explanation of the Technology and how it works).
You can connect at any speed, from 14.4 up to 230 baud (128k)! At this rate, transfers occur at about 1 megabyte per minute.
For clients using FTP Software other than Netscape Navigator:
ftp address: "ftp://ftp.graficamedia.com"
name: anonymous
password: your e-mail address (or "anonymous")
For Mac users we recommend using "Fetch" (Power PC or '040 Macintosh) for doing your ftp transfers. This software is very good and public domain from Stanford, you can download a copy now from our server using the links below.
For PC users we recommend one of the Winsock products linked to the TUCOWS web site. You can also use any other pc or mac software that supports the ftp protocol.
Fetch 3.0.3 (POWER PC Mac) in binhex format.
Fetch 2.1.2 ('040 Mac) in binhex format.
For Mac or PC Users, you can also use Netscape Navigator v.4.0 or higher to transfer files with our ftp server.
For the URL address enter: "ftp://ftp.graficamedia.com/" (Don't forget the forward-slash when using Netscape). Follow the on-screen instructions, then go under the "file" menu to "Upload File" and you're off and running.

Please Compress All Uploads:
We recommend that you create a ".sea" file of the files you wish to upload to us to make the process as uncomplicated as possible. Making sure that the file(s) are compressed and also all combined into one archive makes it the easiest to send, receive and process.
Also, by converting the compressed file into a "binhex" format, you will be insured that the attachment will make it (hopefully :). Traditionally the internet has not dealt well will email attachment in "binary" (standard) format, "binhex" is a text based format, and much easier for many older e-mail servers to handle. This is especially important when sending e-mail attachments through America Online' e-mail gateway.
We currently support the following types of file compression software:
Stuff-It Classic©, Stuff-It Deluxe©, Disk Doubler© & PK Zip.© Please Note: If you create a ".sea" (self extracting archive) file, you can use any compression software, listed above or not).
A Word About FIREWALLS and Network Security -
Many corporate networks institute a security measure called a "firewall". This typically is a router set up with scriptable names and passwords that keeps your network safe from intruders. The downfall of some of these systems is that at the same time the network is locked down to unwanted guests, it also locks down the in-house users limiting their internet accessability, typically including FTP access to remote servers.
This situation can usually be rectified by consulting with your Network Administrator, and getting a secured name and password with the access required to "jump over" the firewall and be granted the necessary access.
Please consult with your network administrator before attempting to make any FTP connection with our site for the first time.
Smaller users using home / small business "dial up" access via modem need not worry about this issue...only users connected to larger corporate LAN's and WAN's. Contact our customer service department with any questions you or your administrator may have.
