WorldVentures Extends A Helping Hand to Support the Komen Foundation
WorldVentures, the company known for their generous efforts and philanthropic spirit, once again stepped up to support yet another worthwhile cause. This time the recipient of their generosity was the Susan G. Komen Foundation, with employees participating in the Race for the Cure fundraising walk. As part of their ongoing efforts to “give back” to the community and support of life-changing causes, some of the home office staff participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Plano, TX, on Saturday, June 6, 2009. The Race for the Cure is the annual fundraising event supporting Breast Cancer research, and attracts thousands of caring and benevolent participants who are all dedicated to making a difference in this worthwhile cause.

Twenty-five years ago the first Komen Race for the Cure© was held in Dallas, TX with 800 participants. The Komen Dallas Race for the Cure© is now one of the largest runners' events in Dallas with just under 25,000 participants, 1,000 volunteers, thousands of spectators and over 50,000 television and internet viewers. Last year, the Race raised more than $2.5 million in gross revenue.
The Foundation's objective is to provide maximum return to support their promise of saving lives and ending breast cancer through education, screening and research. 81% of all funds raised, through the Race and other events, are spent on their promise. Over the past five years the Komen Dallas Affiliate has raised over $12 million dollars.
Through this event the Komen Foundation joins more than 100,000 breast cancer survivors and activists around the globe as part of the world's largest and most progressive grassroots network fighting breast cancer. Through events like the Komen Dallas Race for the Cure, they invest more than $1.5 million each year in local breast health and breast cancer awareness projects in Dallas County. Up to seventy-five percent of net proceeds generated by the Komen Dallas County Affiliate stay in Dallas County while a minimum of twenty-five percent goes to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Award and Research Grant Programs supporting research, awards and educational and scientific programs around the world.
Currently WorldVentures regularly supports organizations such as: the Komen Foundation, North Texas Food Bank, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the Iraq Stars and many others. They company also encourages their staff, representatives and members to give wherever and whenever they are able. Their philanthropic efforts have become a basic tenet of their business philosophy.
